Having restored quite a few vintage brass shells of different makers, I came to the conclusion that it's time to bring some light into the myth of the "seamless" shells.
Although expecially the Lud&Lud heavy brass shells are rumored to be seamless spun (i.e. without a VERTICAL seam) by many collectors...
They are NOT!
All the shells that I had in my hands were first rolled, brazed and then spun - thus, a VERTICAL seam is visible inside the shell. Sometimes it is just hidden very well underneath the plating and not immediately visible.
